2nd place at the Verbier Xtreme 2009
Categories: winter

The Verbier Xtreme has always been a very special event to me. For all Freeriders it is the most important place to go for a competition. The Bec the Rosse is an extremly challenging mountain and the ambiance in the whole village of Verbier is unique during that weekend.

For the second time the Xtreme was the final event  of the Freeride World Tour. I entered the Freeride World Tour at its last stop in Tignes just a week before the Finals because I still needed time to recover from my last season’s injury.

It felt good to meet the freeride community again and to spend a couple of days riding and partying together and being part of the whole event again.

For the first time they let all the girls start from the lookers right shoulder of the Bec. First, most of us where pretty disappointed not to ride from the top but in the end we enjoyed our “own” face as the snow conditions where better on our side and we could play with untracked terrain.

I was extremely happy to end up in second position right behind Geraldine Fasnacht as I did not expect anything. Feels good to be back!
